Why so Flat?

Flat earth please excuse me, I like curves better. Flat is mainly associated with the opposite of something extraordinary, like a flat sense of humour or a flat tire. I have even found some interesting definitions of flat such as; “lacking interest or emotion; dull and lifeless” or a musical chord “below the true or normal pitch of musical sound” a complete opposite to curve, which is associated to contour, an outline, especially one representing or bounding the shape or form of something or as a verb (be contoured) to mould into a specific shape, especially one designed to fit into something else. Much better.
